What I Think>>>>

I really enjoyed researching and learning about Rhabdomyolysis. This disease could easily be prevented if people know about it and what should be done. All it takes to prevent this illness is drink plenty of fluids after exercise to reduce the urine and flush the myoglobin out of the kidney. Proper hydration is also necessary after any condition or event that may involve damage to skeletal muscle.

What is Rhabdomyolysis????

Rhabdomyolysis is a disease that is not very common. Rhabdomyolysis is the breakdown of muscle, resulting in a protein called Myoglobin being released into the bloodstream and filtered out the body by the kidneys.Myoglobin breaks down into harmful compounds, that can block the structures of the kidney, causing damage such as acute tubular necrosis or kidney failure. As this is happening the muscles are dying, dead muscle tissue may cause a large amount of fluid to move from the blood into the muscle.Reducing the fluid volume of the body and leading to a condition called Shock and reducing blood flow to the kidneys. Rhabdomyolysis generally affects the body in many ways: muscle aches, stiffness, and muscle weakness can occur with Rhabdomyolysis, also it may cause a darkening of the urine color. Additional but rear symptoms are fatigue, joint pain, seizures, and weight gain.

Normal Function of Kidneys.

The main part of the body effect by Rhabdomyolysis are the kidneys. The normal functions of thje kidneys is filtering blood and getting rid of waste, products, but they also have the job of balancing levels of electrolytes, controlling blood pressure, and producing red blood cells. Kidneys are also the source of erythropoietin (EPO) in the body.

TREATMENTS

There are not many treatments for this disease the most important is to renovate the kidneys. There are three choose for Kidney treatment; Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, kidney Transplantation.
  • Hemodialysis cleans and filters your blood using a machine to momentarily rid the body of harmful wastes. This how hemodialysis works
  • Peritoneal Dialysis is a method that removes wastes, chemicals, and extra water from your body.
  • Kidney Transplant is when a new kidney in place in the lower abdomen and connects the artery and vein of the kidney to your artery and vein.
